Welcome to QB Weekly

QB Weekly is now offering  football training in Los Angeles California!  The same group that has worked with many of the elite quarterbacks and wide recievers in the NFL and Division I collegiate football ranks is introducing an exclusive football training and national exposure package to the Golden State.  Beginning in September 2011, training sessions will be available for high performance individuals that are seeking the edge on the playing field.

QB Weekly provides athletes with extremely knowledgeable and dedicated coaches.  Our current staff has trained the likes of Tom Brady, Jake Locker, Matt Cassell, Josh Freeman, Jimmy Clausen, DeSean Jackson, Marques Colston and over 20 D1 quarterbacksand wide recievers.  Even quarterbacking legend, Joe Montana, sends his sons to train with our staff!  Simply put, there is not a better group of private football  coaches in the nation. Our coaches in California have a wealth of experience having worked with, and played for the likes of Todd Dodge (University of Pittsburgh QB Coach), Dennis Erickson (Arizona State Head Coach), Warren Ruggiero (Bowling Green Offensive Coordinator), Bob Stoops (University of Oklahoma Head Coach) Jeff Tedford (Uniiversity of California Berkley Head Coach) June Jones (SMU Head Coach) and Mike Riley (Oregon State Head Coach), as well as many others.

We offer both private and group training programs that will develop a quarterback at any stage of his game into one of the nations best! Training will consist of on the field lessons as well as film sessions. What separates us from the rest is that we have a 100% track record of satisfying our clients playing goals, whether that is to start on their pop warner/high school team or play major Division 1A football! So if you feel that your son has what it takes to play on Saturdays or just want him to be the best he can at his position, contact us to setup an evaluation so we can help you meet those goals!

At QB Weekly, we know what your son and/or quarterback are trying to attain within the game of football. Why? Our staff has been where your player is trying to get to! Our goal is to inspire and educate families on alternative learning methods within the game of football, in particular the quarterback position, by providing you an economic outlet and sound learning environment for all quarterbacks. QB Weekly’s online tutorials will provide quarterbacks, coaches, and families with the same on/off field instruction and drills you would receive at any nationally acclaimed position specific quarterback camp or private training program.

As a member you will be granted full access to the most elite training techniques, taught by the nation’s top experts. Besides the mental and mechanical quarterback training, you will be provided with speed, strength, agility, and nutritional programs that today’s top amateur and professional quarterback’s use year round within their training regiment!

QB Weekly isn’t just a training tool with videos though; we will have exclusive content only found at QBWeekly.com, with interviews featuring many of the biggest names in college and the NFL! We will provide you with inside information you can’t get anywhere else, including what college coaches really look for when recruiting quarterbacks! QB Weekly’s content is updated weekly with new articles, blogs, interviews, training videos, polls and QB quizzes all geared especially towards those who play or coach the position. Our archives section will allow you to re-visit the content as often as you desire. Whether you are a college quarterback, high school signal caller, or youth athlete starting out at the position – QB Weekly will allow you to stay up to date with the latest quarterback news in the game and training techniques from head to toe! As a member of our extended football family, you will also receive the 1st edition of our QB Weekly magazine hot off the printing press. For more information please visit our site

Volunteering

The Burbank Vikings is run by a team of volunteers some of who have kids in the program, others who do not.  The success of this program is absolutely contingent on continuing to grow our volunteer pool.

Upon signing up your football player or cheerleader, each parent has committed 6 hours PER CHILD to volunteering for the program.  If four hours per child are not completed nearing the end of the season, your athlete runs the risk of not participating in games until the hours have been fulfilled.  There are several ways to complete your four volunteer hours in no time. Opportunities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Working in the Snack Shack
  2. Helping Cheer make ‘run through’ posters
  3. Field set up and break down
  4. Field/Bleacher clean up (both for practice and games)
  5. Equipment hand out and collection
  6. Chain Gang
  7. Announcer
  8. Score board operator

Details for all of the above mentioned tasks are listed on the Volunteer Description page.

Beyond these day-to-day necessities, there are more permanent Volunteer positions that are ABSOLUTELY necessary to the functionality of the 2010 season. These positions include:

  1. Team Athletic Directors for both cheer and football
  2. Volunteer Coordinator
  3. Division Commissioners

Details for all of the above mentioned jobs are listed under the Volunteering tab at the top of this page.

Be sure to post your praises and congrats on our
'Monday Morning QB' Guestbook!

Former PYFL Star Killed in Iraq

Lance Cpl. Anthony Melia, United States Marine Corps, was killed in combat in Iraq on Jan. 27, 2007, at the age of 20. Anthony died much as he lived, with passion, bravery, selflessness and unspeakable valor.

Anthony was born Aug. 29, 1986, in Sacramento , Calif. After moving to Ventura County , Anthony played youth football for the Thousand Oaks Titans, then attended Thousand Oaks High School where his traits of passion, valor and selflessness were developed on the football field.  Anthony starred for the Lancers and made many of the friends he held so close to his heart while wearing green and white.  Anthony played the game fearlessly and proudly, battling back from injuries to continue playing the game he loved with those he loved.

After graduation, Anthony's calling took him to the United States Marine Corps, where again those traits were immediately recognized, resulting in his rapid rise to team leader.

Anthony is survived by his parents, Mike and Vicki; sister, Nicole; brother, Daniel; nephew, Nicholas; grandparents Chuck, Joanne and June, and fiancée Jamie Chunko; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved Anthony deeply.

Your prayers are requested for all who knew Anthony and must now show the traits he lived with every day to moved forward without him.

A trust fund has been established in Anthony's name at Santa Barbara Bank and Trust. Anyone interested should contact Adriana Sanchez, Santa Barbara Bank and Trust, 4646 Adolfo Road , Camarillo , CA 93012 ; phone 805-384-5321.  The fund will be used to create scholarships and opportunities in Anthony's name.

The Thousand Oaks Titans will start a scholarship fund in Anthony Melia's name.
