Regarding Sign-Ups – Youth Football Program (Cheer Program-see below) Q. Can I download the application before Sign-ups and have it completed when I arrive? A. No. Applications are pre-printed in triplicate and individually numbered. Q. If a child quits the program at any time, do they get a refund? A. No. There are No Refunds, No Exceptions. Q. Is there a discount for two or more children in a family? A. No. Each player pays the same amount. The program does offer a 50/50 split of advertising that can be put towards sign-up fees. 50% of all advertising sold on behalf of the Burbank Vikings up to sign up day can go towards sign-up fees. Click here to download form Q. Do we need to bring a check or cash of $500.00 ($350.00 + $150.00) on Sign up day? A. No. Only the sign-up fee ($350.00) is due on Sign up day. The $150.00 equipment deposit will be required when equipment is handed out in August and returned at the end of the season when the equipment is returned. Q. I heard a rumor that players will have their names on the back of their uniforms this year? A. Yes. The $350.00 sign-up fee includes a game jersey that will include the players last name and they get to keep them when the season is over. Q. Does my child need to be physically at the sign up day? A. No, but we highly recommend your child be at Sign-Ups as there will be a booth set-up for sizing uniforms. Q. If neither parent or guardian cannot be there on Sign up day, can a friend or family act on their behalf? A. We’ve had a couple of inquiries about this. This question will be discussed at the next board meeting.
Cheer Program F.A.Q. Q. Does the $150.00 sign-up fee for the Cheer Program include the uniform? A. No. Uniform fees will vary and are not currently finalized.
Q. We are being fitted the day of sign-ups, right? A. No. Cheerleading uniform fitting information will be in May. We currently don't have a date, but one will be available the day of sign-ups.
Q. When will actual uniform costs be made available? A. Uniform package costs will be handed out to cheerleaders as they sign up.
Q. Are we keeping the same uniforms? A. Seniors will be getting a new different uniform, while the Pee Wee, Bantam and Juniors are using the same as the previous year. Costs have yet to be finalized.
Q. Do we have attend the 'final paperwork turn-in'? A. Yes. Cheerleaders need to bring their completed physical form, proof of residency (utility bill), and a picture if it has not already been provided.There will also likely be a parent meeting following the collection of paperwork. Q. Will cheer be practicing during the days of the football combine? A. Yes Q. When will we know what team we are cheering for? A. It is likely that teams will be arranged by the end of the first week, beginning of the second week of August. Q. I am going on vacation during the month of August. Can I still cheer? A. Summer practice is our prep time for the football season and when we learn all the cheers and start stunting (if applicable).If you miss practice, it is each cheerleader’s responsibility to learn missed material. Q. Do we get to learn and perform cool stunts? A. Stunting is a part of cheerleading that must be earned.It requires focus and discipline.Due to the nature of stunting and the potential for injury, it is at the coach’s discretion whether teams are allowed to stunt.
Q. For my first day of summer practice, what do I need to bring/wear? A. Bring yourself, a bottle of water, and a positive attitude! Please arrive with your hair up, green, black, gray or white shorts and shirt or any Vikings shirt purchased through the program.Athletic shoes are necessary.No Converse, skater type shoes, or shoes that don't have laces.You will be asked to sit out if any of the above does not follow guidelines.
